Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapists work in hospitals, doctor's offices, yoga studios and have private practices all over the country. Yoga therapists are highly trained on the principles of yoga, the full range of yogic practices, and foundational knowledge in biology, medicine, and psychology. The goals of yoga therapy include eliminating, reducing, and/or managing symptoms that cause suffering; improving function; helping to prevent the occurrence or re-occurrence of underlying causes of illness; and moving toward improved health and well-being. We work with the client to develop and implement a self-empowering therapeutic plan appropriate to the client's needs and oriented around prevention and health promotion.

About Me
I first discovered meditation when I was 19 and living in Napa, California. The practice grounded and empowered me with confidence to become my own person. Nearly 10 years later I was invited to a Bikram Yoga class here in Michigan, it was brutal. The class was intensely challenging mentally, and nearly impossible physically; I was hooked. For the next 20 years, I turned to the Bikram class when I felt the need to detox and deeply tune into myself. I knew there was something to the breathing, focusing, and observation of myself that created a symbiotic shift within me that yoga held space for.
However, it wasn't until I found myself trying to navigate a divorce, 3 boys, and an ailing parent that I needed to understand how to utilize the skills practiced independently of a class. I walked away from my career as a brand ambassador for a French skincare company to immerse myself in advanced yoga studies and a deep mindful practice. The training required much sacrifice and tremendous patience. I'm grateful and humbled to now be able to assist others on their journey to unleash the power of their own mind + breath connection. I work with an amazing team and we can't wait to help you, feel great again.
Our goal is to help patients of all ages and fitness levels identify areas in their lives where challenges exist and teach them tools and techniques to help them live with and or overcome those challenges. We can work with large groups, families, couples, or individuals. It's not unusual to have patients present with emotional trauma, anxiety, grief, pain, stress, anger, and physical limitations. We have the experience to help assist patients on their wellness journey. Commonly used techniques are meditation, breathwork, and movement; however, those are just the tip of the iceberg. Each patient has their own unique set of obstacles requiring an individual assessment and personalized treatment plan.
